The evolution of the block of the Biblioth que Nationale in Paris is viewed from 1828 to 1875. This study is based upon three axes of analysis first, an observation of the urban context of the blocks to determine its situation in the city and the formation of institutions in the nineteenth century and defines the process of internal transformation.
